Lets share the recipes we like to enjoy while reading a good book:) I love to eat apple salad any time of the year, the book I'm reading right now is called Summer Rental by Mary K. Andrews:)
So tell me your recipe and your book?
I'm not big on portions or measurements so just eye ball it:)
- apples
- peacans
- pineapple(canned slices or chunks)
- sour cream
- sugar
- powder cinnamon
Cut the apple into little squares the size depends on you, if you need to also cut your pineapple.Crush your peacans into itty bity pieces.In a bowl mix the apples,pineapples and peacans, then add the sour cream,sugar, and powder cinnamon.Mix everything together and check for sweetnes:) and enjoy!!!!!
I know what you mean I have 4 kids too! And as soon as I hear them in the morning I ask for mercy lol! And a cup of coffee help:)

Grandma's Chile Rellenos with Cream Sauce
12 to 14 pablano chiles
1 eight oz bag of grated Monterey Jack cheese
1 can whole kernel corn, drained.
Cream Sauce
1/2 onion chopped
2 cans evaporated milk
2 cans of Media Crema (or half and half milk)
1/2 stick butter
Consomme to taste or chicken bouillon
Roast chilies till black. Take off outer skin. Carefully slit open chilles and remove seeds. In a bowl mix cheese and drained corn. Spoon the mixture onto the chille. If need be hold together with a toothpick. In a large pan melt butter with little oil. Saute some onions. Add evaported milk. Then add 2 cans of Media Crema. Bring to a boil. Add consomme or chicken bouilion. Stir well to mix. Place chilies in cream sauce. Turn heat down on low. Once cheese is melted remove chile rellenos and serve over rice with leftover sauce. Enjoy from my home to yours!

Reading this & my favorite easy snack is either pretzles with ranch dressing dip or falvored almonds.
Has anyone ever tried Rosemary flavored almonds? Grind fresh rosemary into a powder, spread almonds on a baking sheet & spray with cooking spray, sprinkle on rosemary powder & roast for 10 mins or so.
Pollo desmenuzado:
2 pechugas de pollo
1/2 pimientos morrones {o 1 tu gusto}
1 cebolla
Aceite de oliva (a gusto )
1/2 cucharadita de vinagre
ajo y recahito a gusto
en una hoya mediana pones a hervir las pechugas con sal a gusto... hasta que esten cosidas...Con dos tenedores las vas desmenusando, luego en un salten mediano... calientas con el aceite de oliva... echas el ajo, recao y cebolla a sofreir a fuego lento... cuado sientas los olores les echa el pollo lo vas moviendo y le echas el pimiento morron y la media cucharadita de vinagre lo mueves y lo tapae por cinco minutos y luego le subes el fuego a mediano y le das color al pollo y listo para saervir... con tostones y ensalada o con arroz... Que lo difrutes... Buen Provecho... Nioemi de Puerto Rico

I really dont like almonds I'm more of a peacan girl but the sound good.

Cool! right now that is so hot i like to have fresh fruits for the kids and the husband so they can keep cool. I love to shred some carrots and jicamas and then add lime juice and chile:)
