I am out of ideas on what things I can feed my son for breakfast. He has an oral/sensory issue so he wont go anywhere near a spoon or anything mushy. Since he has his sensory issues he only likes things thare are crunchy which means no oatmeal, or pancakes. I tried baking the oatmeal to make it a bit harder but once he bit through it and got to the middle he threw it out. He will eat turkey bacon since its crunchy and some cheerios but they have to be dry. Our pediatrician recommended pediasure and it worked for about 2 days now he wont go near it either. We have tried just about evey flavor and nothing. He is also allergic to eggs which really limits what we can give him. Any ideas on anything else I can try??
have you tried talking to a nutritionist? my brother has a son w/ special needs and he wouldn't eat anything. he became underweight and malnutritioned. baby had to see a nutritionist and a speech therapist, he was really picky w/ foods and textures. now he eats just about anything.
How about Eggo waffles? They have so many different flavors (all of which my son will eat, lol). Will he drink smoothies?

The waffles have eggs in them so we cant use them and we have tried making him smoothies but thats a hit or miss with him. He will drink them somedays and not others. Havent thought about a nutritionist but might have to do it. We have him working with a speech therapist on feedings and oral motor stimulation but we haven't had much luck.

my nephew saw the nutritionist and speech therapist for about 8-9 mos before he started to eat better, he still sees them, but now eats sooooo much better. He was really picky w/ textures. It was so frustrating. He had to have a feeding tube until he was 1.5 yrs old. Don't give up mama. Luck to ya!!!
OMG! We were doing ok until he turned 2. All of a sudden he decided he didn't want to eat certain things. He will eat chicken and some veggies but if its not crunchy he wont touch it. It is extremely frustrating :/

Toast with butter or chesse? Any other kind of cereal? Granola bars, dry fruits.
Does he like bread? Perhaps a pice of toast or a cracker in the morning will be ok. The vegetables don't need to be overcooked, so he can have pretty much any kind of vegetable then. You can make your own waffles at home without using eggs, they will actually turn out a little crunchier and might work for him. Does he like crunchy apples or perhaps jicama which is crunchy but it does not have ann overpowering flavor. I would suggest nuts if he was older, but I don';t know if you feed him nuts already> I never fed nuts to my kids until they were 4, because they were hard to digets. What about celery? That is crunchy and will also supply him with enough water.
How does he do with egg substitute? Maybe use that to make waffles or a dry omelet with various crunchy veggies in it? Get some granola and place it with diced apples. I would also try various dry cereals. My youngest is lactose intolerant. He loves to eat frosted mini wheats and the mini wheats with fruit in the middle.
My son also hates textures... But i tried bread, loves muffins, maybe some oatmeal cookies if you are afraid of nt enough fiber on the diet... cheese, grapes I feel you is really hard and you blame yourself but with so many things like potty training, walking, learning to talk, sleeping is all about being consistent and try to be calm and assertive... GOOD LUCK!!!
