Do most dads help with newborn feedings and diaper changes at NIGHT?

Having a newborn can be extremely demanding...especially the first few weeks with the frequent feeding and diaper changes required at night. I was curious to know if most dads end up helping during this time...or are most mothers doing it by themselves (like me!)?
When my husband was working I did it by myself. However, when he wasn't working he actually would get up with baby. When I was breastfeeding he'd bring baby to me. One morning I was so exhausted that I didn't hear baby wake for a feeding. I woke up to see DH standing over me trying to figure out how to latch our son on so he could eat without waking me. He really did a lot since he wasn't working. He's basiclly been a SAHD since our oldest was born. He was laid of a week before he was born and has only been able to find temp jobs here and there since.
Nice to hear your husband helped out! Impressive!
It's tough with my husband working now as I have to do it all myself...makes me very frustrated at times. Don't know how mothers do it -- it's definitely more than a full-time job with feedings (especially if nursing), pumping, washing bottles, doing laundry, cooking etc. Wow!
my hubby did and still helps me alot with the diapers

My husband had the night shift in our house and thank God for that because I probably would've died of sleep deprivation. He was and still is great with helping out around the house and with the kids.
My husband and I had a deal. When the baby got up he would make the bottle while I change them and then I would feed them. He works and I am SAHM. Now if he was off and I was/am tired I get to nap all day if I want too one of his day off.
Wow, that's pretty amazing that he took the night shift!

How nice, trying not to wake you. That is considerate. My husband helped with both, but more with the second because I didn't want a baby.

Dad helps and has done so from day one. The only things he doesn't do is cook, laundry, and breastfeed. He is better at all the other domestic things than I.
