Neither is really preferred, though English is spoken more. When I teach my girls something I teach them how to say it in both languages and how to pronounce it correctly in each language.

I speak mostly spanish when I am alone but they are some words that they only understand in english. My husband only speak english so he speak english to them I think we have 50/50.
En mi casa hablamos mas español que ingles y quisiera que mis hijos lo aprendieran correctamente , para que puedan comunicarse con sus abuelos en cuba y tener mejores oportunidades en el futuro hablando 2 idiomas.
