Did a housewarming committee stop by with goodies when you moved in? Do they share their extra veggies from their gardens with you? Do you ever stop by & check on someone you haven't seen in a while. If they are sick, do you drop off soup or supplies they may need?
How nice are you to your neighbors? How nice are they to you?
My new neighborhood is also in a gated community, but not that friendly. :-(
My neighbors here in this area are not nice at all unless you count the elder gentleman that lives next door. He gave me a number and reference for the lawyer he used to win his SSI case so that I can contact him about my son's pending case and offered to help us with dish soap since this week we are paid in full for our rent but short on cash for the house. He's really nice. He also gets my packages for me when I am not home.
Oh wow. I haven't been to a good block party in years!

My old neighborhood was like that. We even had block parties.

Well at least you have one & he seems pretty nice.

Would you prefer they were friendlier or do you like it that way?

Our neighbors keep to themselves

When my husband and I moved in we had help from my mother in law and a coworker from my husband's job. Their is a house above us and a lady screamed out to my mother in law, me, and my mom asking who we were. My mother in law answered and said, my daughter in law and her husband are the new neighbors and that was that. That was in Feb 2012. Soon after an older lady came by from down the road and asked who was moving in and I waved my hand. She was polite and said if I loved horses I can come by her house. Then last month a tweaked out drug dude came by our house asking if we had seen a dog. He's the one that lived up the house. I'm guessing that older lady from three months prior was a girlfriend. My husband and I had gotten back from my parents house getting my bedroom dresser and he (tweaked out dude) helped my husband get the dresser in the house. Our neighbors here are pretty much to themselves. We do get a visitor every now and then. The older lady has a dog name T-Bone so he comes over and adopted us. He likes when we give him leftovers. Since my husband and I are cat lovers, and it's an extra $200 pet deposit to our house, we travel five mintues down the road to my mother in law's house who has three dogs and sixteen cats. But before you point fingers in disgust and go ew that is a lot of cats. My mother in law so happens to give them good housing. Gets their shots up to date. Plenty of food and water. And a good place to roam around. And no doubt they each have their own personalities! (-:

This is a place for moms who love or need help with decorating, organizing, remodeling, cleaning and anything else around the home!
