Chore Calendar for the kids/Calendario de quehaceres para los niños
- 10 Replies
I'm trying to set up a chore calendar for my kids who are 11, 9 and 7. They help out around the house once in a while but it's disorganized. I'm not sure where to start or how to do it. Do you ladies have any tips on how to make a calendar? or have any good website suggestions?

I think I've seen some ideas on activityvillage.co.uk and on http://www.goalforit.com/chore-chart.html. Parents.com also has free blank ones where you can write the specific chores and days.

I use to get a calendar and write on the days the chores where due so everyone is on the same page. Also a reward always is good motivation! Good Luck!
Thanks!

This site has a lot of great charts.
I made mine on word. Used the tables. One column for the chores. Next abbreviation of the days of the week; like M, T, W, etc. . . One more column for for total. Think about what each child does and what you want them to do - those are the chores. I change mine every now and then. As the learn chores and they become life habits. I take them off the chore chart and think of new ones for them. Think about the $$ to. How much are they going to get?
I think that I'll do it in Excel. That helps alot. I'm not planning on giving them money for their chores bc these are things they'll have to do on their own when they move out and they won't get paid. I might pay them for helping out with extra things, like cleaning my car etc. But I think they're prize will be eating out wherever they want or something like that. I don't want them to get used to being paid =)

That's exactly what I said at first. Than I learned that they needed to learn about the concept of save up to buy something. Not just buy something because they finally got some $$. To open up a saving account. Not much is in there and they still have their piggy banks. Why do piggy's eat money? IDK.
Excel sounds perfect! Then you can print it out and tape it to their doors. For a helpful reminder. If not doors then somewhere helpful to remind them. Have fun!
