Waaaay Back Memories

Father's day is this Sunday and although I don't have a father I have a son who is a father and a very good Hunny who has been a Daddy to my kids and a Popo to our grandkids.

But thinking about my son just really brings tears of joy. I was looking for a picture or something meaninful to give him this fathers day and amidst all the things I have saved I found a little piece of art work mijo made for me one year in elementary:

"Sometimes you get discouraged

     because I am so small

And always leave my handprints

      On furniture and walls

But everyday I'm growing-

       I'll be grown-up someday

And all those tiny handprints

       Will surely fade away

So here is a final handprint

        Just so you can recall

Exactly how my fingers looked

        When I was very small."

And at the bottom is a handprint of his (tear) and besides it says "Love your son, Robert"

Now my baby is all grown up and a Daddy with children of his own, I'm going to copy this for him and have HIS children leave him handprints so that he too will one day look back and have the memories that he gave me of him when he was small. Some gifts just can't be bought with money and those are the ones that have more meaning. :)

Have your children left you memories that you can share with them and their children?

OMG! Tia that is the same art work my son did when he was in elementary and when he bought it home I was in tears.., thinking that one day he will be all grown up and I will miss all that, he isn't fully grown up yet, but I am still holding on to that art work as well...Thats a great idea what you are going to do!

Save them if you don't already it's nice to look back at the things your children made for you once they get older. When I'm having a bad day I LOVE pulling out my things my kids have made for me it always brightens my day.

I had my class of pre-K children make handprints for their mothers and they made hats for their dads
